Academic Biography:
Q. Where is your study area located? Sicily.
Q. What is your focus of research? Medieval Sicilian Archaeology. Specifically, Islamic influence on ceramic production throughout the island and the social and political ramifications this influence had.
Q. Why did you choose NIU? I chose NIU because of the great teachers and excellent program. It is also one of the few schools in my academic area of interest that offered TA positions to Masters Students, which, I think, is something all graduate students need to consider when applying.
Q. Who is your advisor? Why did you choose to work with this professor? My advisor is Dr. Michael Kolb. I chose him as an advisor because of his research in Sicily and because I have worked with him in the past. He is an excellent isntructor and very knowledgeable in his field.
