Academic Biography:

Q. Where is your study area located? Physical Anthropology focusing on primate behavior.

Q. What is your focus of research? The main question I am posing in my research is how stress influences behavior and health. chimpanzees are an excellent model for investigating these questions given their phylogenetic relatedness with humans, and also because they provide an example of complex societies life, with hierarchies, gender roles and culture. My research interests intersect with many disciplines such as psychology, (neuroscience, neuroendocrinology and cognition), and anthropology, human and non-human socioecology

Q. Why is your advisor? Dr. Leila Porter, who is extremely savvy in primatological research and very enthusiastic about helping me conduct research.

Q. What pets do you have? A cat (Edie)

Q. Do you volunteer anywhere? At the Zoo in Seattle and in libraries translating pamphlets (English to Spanish).
