Cool off with great summer events!
June flew by, but we've still got plenty of great events planned for this summer! For the sports fans, we've got 3 baseball games this month - Kane County Cougars, Chicago Cubs, and Chicago White Sox. If you're looking for a family friendly event - join us for NIU Day at Brookfield Zoo on August 8. Explore all that the zoo has to offer and join your NIU friends for lunch at the newly built Peacock Pavilion.

The NIU Alumni Association has partnered with the Lifelong Learning Institute to provide outstanding field trip opportunities to our alumni and friends. The Lifelong Learning Institute also offers courses and other benefits. The next LLI field trip is scheduled for July 17 and is called "Elmhurst - One Hot 'Burb". Sereno Family and NIU Alumni Association Make Headlines
The NIU Alumni Association awarded its Outstanding Alumni Award for the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences to The Sereno family. All six Sereno children attended NIU before pursing advanced degrees at some of the nation's most prestigious universities. Because their time at NIU meant so much to the Sereno family, everyone made an effort to attend the NIU Alumni Awards Ceremony on April 23. The Sereno family's incredible story made the front cover of the Chicago Tribune on Friday, April 24.

Fall Football!
Join the NIU Alumni Association in partnership with Huskie Athletic Scholarship Fund (HASF) for two away game tailgates this fall! We'll be heading to Madiso, Wisconsin on September 5 and West Lafayette, Indiana on September 19. Be there to cheer on the Huskies as they battle the University of Wisconsin Badgers and the Purdue University Boilermakers!
