Social skills groups are designed to enhance peer interaction, play and communication. Most of the children in our groups have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Groups meet either once weekly or once every other week. Group goals, child specific goals, and Activities are determined with each child's family. A reflecting team composed of parents, faculty and selected graduate clinicians observe each session from behind a one-way mirror. The reflecting team meets with the social skills group clinicians immediately following sessions to discuss observations, impressions, and future plans.
