Prior to joining the AAC staff in January 2005, Steven worked in both admissions and academic advising at College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn . He also served in the Army and Army National Guard and has taught English as a second language in Japan . He currently teaches UNIV 101 each fall.

Jonathon joined the AAC staff in August 2008, after working as an academic advisor at North Central College in Naperville, IL. Jonathon has experience in serveral offices at NIU including Orientation & First Year Experience, the Women's Resource Center, and the Academic Advising Center, in which he served as a graduate assistant from 2005 to 2007.

Colette joined the AAC staff in June 2007 after serving as a counselor in the CHANCE Program for over 7 years. She enjoys teaching UNIV 101 each fall. Prior to coming to Northern Illinois University, she has worked as a youth therapist for both a community mental health agency and a residential facility.

Mazen joined the AAC staff in June 2008. He brings to the AAC his previous work experience as an academic advisor and instructor within NIU's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences' Political Science Department. Mazen has extensive teaching experience having taught courses at Benedictine University, North Central College, Rockford College, Columbia College and Rima College in Malaysia. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Political Science at NIU and teaching a course at Columbia College.
