An NIU education is far more than books, lectures and tests. Students have the opportunity to develop their research skills through the university's unique undergraduate research programs.
The Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship Program (URAP) is a vehicle that allows undergraduates in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences to obtain funding for research and work alongside faculty mentors
The Undergraduate Special Opportunities in Artistry and Research (USOAR) program funds student-generated research projects, whether the study is conducted on campus, somewhere else in the United States or overseas.
