Weekday Visits
(Monday through Friday, excluding holidays & closure days)
Weekday Visits Summer Hours
- Beginning June 9 through August 15, 2008, the Barsema Alumni and Visitor Center will be open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and closed on Fridays.
- Beginning June 9 through August 15, 2008, the Office of Admissions in Williston Hall will be open 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and closed on Fridays.
- Regular operating hours will resume on Monday, August 18, 2008.
Step One
On weekdays, start your campus visit to NIU Admissions at the new Barsema Alumni and Visitor Center (231 N. Annie Glidden Road).
At the center you can:
- Obtain a campus map and directions
- Purchase a reduced-rate visitor’s parking permit
- Enjoy a short video about Northern
- Attend a 30-minute Admissions presentation, weekdays at 10:15 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.
- Following the 30 minute Admissions presentation at the Barsema Alumni and Visitors Center, visit the Office of Admissions, 101 Williston Hall, in the center of the NIU campus to join the 11:30 a.m. or 2 p.m. weekday campus tour.
- Weekday hours at the Barsema Alumni and Visitor Center are 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. (excluding holidays, closure days and Open House dates).
- The Barsema Alumni and Visitors Center Admissions Office is closed on Saturdays and on Open House dates.
Step Two
Weekday admissions visits are also available year-round at the Office of Admissions, Williston Hall 101 (350 Normal Road):
- Admissions counselors are available on a walk-in basis (appointments are not necessary)
- Weekday hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (excluding holidays & closure days)
- Join the weekday campus tour leaving the Office of Admissions, 101 Williston Hall, at 11:30 a.m. or at 2 p.m., Monday through Friday (excluding holidays, closure days and Open House dates).
- If you wish to meet with academic personnel as part of a weekday campus visit, please contact the Office of Admissions at (815) 753-0446 for an appointment at least 10 days prior to your preferred visit date.
- Transfer students may also meet with the Transfer Center on a walk in basis, during regular hours, at the Admissions Office, 101 Williston Hall.
- Visitors are encouraged to check the Admissions Visit Calendar to ensure the NIU Office of Admissions will be open on the day of their visit.

Saturday Visits
Saturday Summer Closure
- Saturday visits and tours are available through May 17, 2008.
- After May 17, the admissions office will be "Closed on Saturdays for the summer".
- Saturday visits and tours will again resume on Saturday, September 6, 2008.
Saturday Visits are at the Office of Admissions, Williston Hall 101, 350 Normal Road, NIU Campus, DeKalb, Illinois from September through May (excluding holidays & closure days).
- The Office of Admissions is open on Saturdays, 10 a.m.- 2 p.m., from September through May (excluding holidays & closure days).

Saturday tours are offered at 12 Noon only, and leave from the Admissions Office. Please arrive early to join the tour at 12 Noon.

Saturday Admissions presentations start at 11:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m., following check-in at the Admissions Office. Please plan to arrive early to check in and attend a presentation.
