Learning is action at NIU. Sure, you'll have classes, lectures and lab work to lay a foundation for you, but you'll also have opportunities to DO the work you're preparing for. Did you know you could conduct research with a Faculty advisor as a Freshman? Or perform and present consulting work for Fortune 500 companies? You can also win a grant to conduct your own research or artistry project, and these are just a few of the opportunities you'll have as a Huskie. Pair that with membership in one of nearly 300 clubs and organizations (including fraternities and sororities), an elected office in the Student Association or volunteering your time through many community groups and programs, and you've set the stage for your own success. Ranging from pure fun, to professional development and everything in between, come learn about the experiences you'll never forget as a Huskie!
Because your future is our focus, we're here to help you be successful. From incredible hands-on learning opportunities and mentoring programs with faculty/staff and successful area alumni, to Internship and Job Fairs and assistance from our Career Services, we're with you every step of the way. Learn about the resources and opportunities that will help you excel and achieve your dreams.
