Residence hall application materials will be sent typically, starting in the month of December. Apply promptly to enjoy the best availability of options. It is strongly recommended all students apply for on-campus housing by May 1, 2010. Assignments are made on a first-received, first-served basis. After May 1, housing assignments will be allocated on a space available basis.
All single students classified as freshmen (under 30 semester hours), who will not have reached their 21st birthday by September 1, 2010 and who are not residing with a parent or legal guardian, must live in NIU’s residence halls as long as space is available.
