Academic Advising, Orientation
and Registration

Transfer students who have confirmed their intention to enroll will be invited to an orientation/ advisement session after which they will be eligible to register for classes.

  • Orientation/Advisement program sessions are scheduled in April, June, and July for Transfer students admitted for an upcoming Fall term.  Invitations to these sessions will be sent to all confirmed students beginning in late February. They may make an Orientation reservation, once the reservation period opens, as announced by the Orientation Office.
  • Transfer students admitted for an upcoming Spring Term are invited to attend a November or December Transfer Orientation program once they have confirmed.  They may make an Orientation reservation, once the reservation period opens, as announced by the Orientation Office.
  • Transfer students admitted for an upcoming Summer session are traditionally invited to a April or May Orientation program once they have confirmed. They may make an Orientation reservation, once the reservation period opens, as announced by the Orientation Office.

Therefore, early confirmation is strongly encouraged.

  • Students who do not confirm their intention to enroll will not be invited to attend a new student Orientation program and may forfeit their offer of admission.
  • You must "confirm" to be invited to a new student Orientation program.

Orientation takes place in April for transfers and in June, July, and August for freshmen, transfers, and other students tradtionally admitted to start in the upcoming Fall term.  Orientation takes place during the preceeding November and December for students admitted for an upcoming Spring term.  Orientation takes place in April and May for students admitted for an upcoming Summer session.

Students will be able to register for classes after attending an orientation session and meeting with an academic adviser.

Nondegree students and visiting students are not required to attend orientation and academic advising.
