What advice do you have for future students? College is a big transition, so you have to keep your eye on the prize. It sounds like a no-brainer, but go to class! It's the number one predictor of success in college. Additionally, learning how to manage your time efficiently will help you to stay on track as you adjust to college life. Don't be afraid to speak up in class. You'll learn more by being inquisitive. And most importantly, get involved! NIU has a lot to offer, and through involvement, you'll not only meet new people and make great friends, but you'll also pick up the skills you need to be successful in your major and beyond.
What are 3 things you love about NIU? I love the campus itself: It's beautiful, laid out well, and walkable. I also love the personality of the student body, which I would characterize as active, full of school spirit, and beautifully diverse like the real world. Lastly, I love the passion for teaching that our professors have. I feel confident in my career because of the tools with which my professors at NIU equipped me.
What is your favorite place on campus? Huskie Stadium: I grew up watching NIU football games and I'll grow old doing the same thing! Go Huskies!
