Accelerated Law Degree program
NIU offers an accelerated law program for high-achieving students. This unique opportunity reduces by one year the time needed for students to complete a B.S. or a B.A. in Political Science, followed by a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree, thus saving both time and money.
The accelerated J.D. program, from start to finish, will take six years to complete instead of the normal seven. This translates to a savings of nearly $35,000!
Interested students can apply to the College of Law during their junior year. Students accepted to the accelerated J.D. program begin first-year law classes their senior year.
Both current NIU undergraduate students and transfer students majoring in political science with a politics emphasis are eligible to participate in the Accelerated Law Degree program.
