General Studies in Health and Human Sciences ProgramBachelor of General Studies in Health & Human Sciences The Bachelor of General Studies in Health and Human Sciences is a personalized program of study designed to meet the needs of professionals seeking advanced career opportunities. The well-rounded curriculum combines elective courses in a wide choice of fields with required courses focusing on business, supervision, ethics, and other management issues. Graduates holding a B.G.S. in Health and Human Sciences plus professional credentials will be prepared for leadership, administrative and teaching roles in these exciting areas:
Admission to the B.G.S. in Health and Human Sciences is restricted. Applicants must hold a professional credential, license, certificate or associate’s degree in the health and human sciences field. To gain the professional advantage available with this degree, take the first step and apply for admission to NIU. Next, students who are admitted must complete the B.G.S. in Health and Human Sciences program application available to the left. After being accepted into the B.G.S. program, you will meet with an Health and Human Sciences advisor to review your previous course work, discuss appropriate courses to meet your goals, and plan the most efficient way to finish your B.G.S. in Health and Human Sciences degree.
