DeKalb, Ill. — Cherilyn G. Murer, president and CEO of the Murer Group, and newly elected chair of the Northern Illinois University Board of Trustees, will be the featured presenter Tuesday, Sept. 25, at the first in a series of executive speakers during the academic year.
The event, co-sponsored by the NIU College of Business and the NIU College of Engineering and Engineering Technology, will be from 5:30 until 7 p.m. in the auditorium of Barsema Hall on the NIU campus.
In her presentation, titled “Conversation with a CEO,” Murer will share her experiences working in one of the most complex arenas of today’s corporate world. The event is designed to provide students enrolled in the NIU College of Business and the NIU College of Engineering and Engineering Technology with an insight into the corporate world that will help them shape their academic careers to best prepare them for their selected fields.
Murer long has been an active voice in the advancement of quality, cost-effective health care in America. In 1984, she founded the Murer Group, which has built a national reputation for its expertise in the development of post-acute care programs and facilities. The company also designs and develops integrated systems and provider networks for healthcare organizations. The company is comprised of a unique team of experts skilled in planning, organization, development, finance and law, all working to promote problem solving in the healthcare industry based on pragmatic reasoning.
