DeKalb — Northern Illinois University will present its annual Storytellers Theatre on April 20 through 23. Hailed by the school as an evening of fun for people of all ages for many years, Storytellers Theatre is the final production of the School of Theatre and Dance's Studio Series 2005-2006 season.
Patricia Ridge, artistic director for the program, oversees as many as 13 tellers in the Stevens Building Corner Theatre each performance. Each night a different group of current and former students, as well as guest tellers, will present a new batch of fairytales, personal stories, and folklore. Some stories will be original pieces written by the performers themselves.
Storyteller's Theatre runs Thursday, April 20, to Sunday, April 23, in the Stevens Building Corner Theatre at Northern Illinois University's DeKalb campus. Weeknight and Saturday shows start at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday's matinee begins at 2 p.m. General admission tickets are available only at the door for $5. More information is available through the Stevens Building Box Office at (815) 753-1600 and on online at www.niu.edu/theatre.
