NIU invites community to Altgeld Hall
for holiday open house Dec. 16

DeKalb — Northern Illinois University invites the community to spend a magical evening at historic Altgeld Hall during a Holiday Open House from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16.

Visitors can indulge in decadent desserts, hot cider and mulled wine and enjoy special holiday entertainment, including seasonal songs performed by the DeKalb High School Madrigal Singers from 7 to 8 p.m. and the music of the Bacchus Trio throughout the evening.

Children will enjoy crafts and classic holiday movies while children of all ages can take horse-and-carriage rides from the College Avenue parking lots to the Castle on the Hill from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
