DeKalb – The Northern Star, the student-run newspaper of Northern Illinois University, will sponsor a debate Oct. 27 between the candidates running for state representative of the Illinois 70th District.
The format of the debate will include questions from the Star’s editorial board and also questions the candidates ask each other. Audience members will also have the chance to submit their own questions prior to the debate.
Communities within the 70th District include: Clare, Cortland, Creston, Davis Junction, DeKalb, Esmond, Fairdale, Hillcrest, Hinckley, Holcomb, Kings, Lee, Leland, Lindenwold, Malta, Monroe Center, Rochelle, Sandwich, Shabbona, Somonauk, Stillman Valley, Sycamore and Waterman.
Both candidates will be available for comment after the debate.
