DeKalb -- Northern Illinois University's Career Planning & Placement Center will sponsor the 2nd annual Community Volunteer Drive on Thursday, Sept.11, from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m., at the Martin Luther King Commons.
The Community Volunteer Drive provides NIU students and faculty the opportunity to network with community agencies and organizations and learn how to become involved in local volunteer projects. The drive continues to serve as a university response to the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001.
The following agencies have registered to participate in the volunteer drive: American Red Cross, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of DeKalb Co., NIU Center for Access-Ability Resources, DeKalb United Way, Ellwood House Museum, 4-C's, Girl Scouts-Sybaquay Council, Housing Authority of the County of DeKalb, Juvenile Learning Mentor Program, Kishwaukee Habitat for Humanity, Main Street DeKalb, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, NIU Habitat for Humanity, Northern Illinois Radio Information Service, R.A.M.P., Safe Passage, Inc., and The Salvation Army.
In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held in the Campus Life Building, Room 100.
