DeKalb— A one-person play on the life and works of poet Edgar Allan Poe will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 12, at the Egyptian Theatre located in downtown DeKalb.
“Edgar Allan Poe—Once Upon A Midnight” features actor John Astin as the mysterious Poe, poet and father of the detective novel. Astin blends the historical with the supernatural to create an unforgettable and amazing journey through Poe’s imagination. Astin is known for his role as Gomez Addams in the original Addams Family series, appeared in West Side Story and the television series “I’m Dickens, He’s Fenster.” More recent television credits include “Mad About You,” “Step By Step,” “The Nanny” and “The Hughleys.”
Tickets for this event will be available beginning Monday, March 18, at the Holmes Student Center’s ticket outlet across from the Diversions Lounge. Prices are $5 for current NIU students (with valid ID) and children under 8; $14 for NIU faculty/staff, ages 8-17 or over 65; and $17 for general public.
