Information for Parents

The OneCard ID is the official identification card of Northern Illinois University. It is the key to accessing all student functions on campus (e.g., Huskie Bucks, Meal Plans, Campus Recreation, Door Access, Library Services). The OneCard may also be linked to a TCF checking account and can then be used as a debit card for purchases from that account.
For a complete list of OneCard ID uses, see HERE.

The first OneCard ID given to your student is free of charge. For verification purposes, your student will need to provide his/her NIU Z-ID/Account Number and permanent address. For further information on obtaining a OneCard, see Getting My OneCard.

If your student is experiencing issues with his/her OneCard ID, please direct your student to our Troubleshooting Tips for help.
For reference, to replace a Damaged OneCard ID, there is a $5.00 fee.
To replace a Lost OneCard ID, there is a $25.00 fee.

Huskie Bucks
