TCF Bank Account

TCF Bank in the Holmes Student Center

Students, Faculty, Staff, and Alumni who have an active NIU OneCard have the opportunity to set up a totally-free checking account with the TCF Bank located here on the NIU campus. The person's OneCard ID can then be used as a debit card which draws from that TCF checking account.

If you would like to take advantage of this feature of your OneCard ID, contact the branch of TCF National Bank on campus at (815) 753-9212.

Details of using your OneCard ID as a TCF ATM/Debit card:

  • Your NIU OneCard works as your ATM/Debit card when you say YES! to totally-free checking with the TCF Bank.
  • When linked to your TCF checking account, your NIU OneCard will work on campus and off campus--like a regular ATM/Debit Card.
  • Security feature requires your ATM PIN to complete all electronic banking transactions.
  • Your NIU OneCard will function accross the entire United States wherever debit cards are accepted.
  • Your NIU OneCard will work in ATM's accross the United States.

NOTE:  A Huskie Bucks Account is not the same as a Housing and Dining Meal Plan, neither is it the same as a TCF Bank Account.  Although a student can have all three accounts accessed by the same OneCard ID, the monies stay separated.  The student can specify at checkout how he would like to pay.  Select an account below for more information about the differences.
