This introductory 2-day course will provide an informational overview of the roles, responsibilities and core competencies that make up the facility management profession. More than just a broad summary, the course will use a scenario-based learning style so that attendees can explore and examine realistic workplace situations in the global marketplace.

Students will benefit from a hands-on learning experience and valuable exposure to the 11 major FM competency areas as identified by IFMA. The course will help attendees grow in the facility management profession, advance their career and better communicate with members of their FM department or team.

Fees include IFMA course materials, continental breakfast, lunch and break service.
Participants recieve their materials from the course instructor at the first class session.
Register up to two weeks prior to secure a seat.

Register at least two weeks prior to start of course date to avoid $100 late registration charge. 

Registrants paying by check should fill out and send in the Mail/Fax Registration Form.


The Illinois Veterans Grant and the Illinois National Guard Grant programs cover tuition and certain fees for eligible students. Charges for non-credit programs offered by NIU-Outreach are not based on university-wide tuition and fee calculations determined by the university and approved by its governing board. The Illinois Veterans Grant and Illinois National Guard Grant do not cover these charges.
