I chose my major because … I have loved the Spanish language ever since my first Spanish class in high school. From that moment, I knew I wanted to teach others and hopefully make a difference in my students’ lives, just like my Spanish teachers did for me.
My favorite class or professor at NIU is … Dr. Malecki’s Psychology 225 class because she taught me more than what was in the book. She taught me life lessons and things I will carry on with me as I continue my goals and aspirations.
My favorite thing to do on campus is … going to all the sporting events and cheering on our fellow Huskies!
Outside of the classroom, my favorite thing at NIU that really enhances my experience here is … being a part of the TEACH House. I love living with other students who have the same interests and ambitions as I have.
When I have free time, I like to … hang out with my friends, watch movies and meet new people.
One thing I wish I knew about actual college life before I got here is … time goes by really fast, so take advantage of every moment and enjoy college life!
One positive thing I have learned about myself since coming to NIU is … no matter how tough times may get, I am strong enough to overcome those times and keep pushing forward.
If I was guaranteed success, I would … learn many more languages and travel the world to discover all the different cultures and traditions that are out there.
After graduation, I plan to … teach high school Spanish and eventually teach children Spanish because I love little kids as well.
The one NIU experience I will always remember will be … all of my experiences here at NIU. I cannot think of just a single experience that I will always remember because every one of my experiences here at NIU have been memorable.
