Hannah
I chose my major because
I believe I was born with the gift of music and the passion for education. There is nothing else I would rather do than teach music.
Outside of the classroom, my favorite thing at NIU that really enhances my experience here is
the Music Building! As a music major, that is basically all we experience. We may as well pitch tents because we practically live there!
One positive thing I have learned about myself since coming to NIU is that I will never be done learning and growing.
After graduation, I plan to teach music in a high school
The thing I like most about having my father on campus is how involved he has stayed in my life. He is always interested in meeting my friends and getting to know them. He becomes everyones friend and second father almost instantly.
My favorite NIU activity to do with my father is our weekly dinner date. It gives us time to catch up.
My favorite NIU memory with my father is the time when he went to a football game to watch me in the Color Guard and then went back to my apartment and made dinner for me and 10 of my friends.
One thing I have learned from my father that has helped me in school is as long as you have tried your best, it will all be OK.
Bill
I chose my major because it supports my current profession.
When I have free time, I like to going to school is my free time activity!
One positive thing I have learned about myself since coming to NIU is at 50 years old, Ive still got what it takes to succeed in the classroom!
If I was guaranteed success, I would ... make a lot of money, then give most of it away.
After graduation, I plan to we plan to graduate together. Then we are either going to Europe or hiking the Pacific Crest Trail together.
The thing I like most about having my daughter on campus is
we are good friends, and its an opportunity to stay connected.
My favorite NIU activity to do with my daughter is
go to Huskie football games.
My favorite NIU memory with my daughter is one winter night I was driving from Milwaukee for class. I arrived too late to see Hannah and too late for dinner. When my class dismissed, I walked out of the classroom to find Hannah waiting for me in the hallway with pizza!
One thing I have learned from my daughter that has helped me in school is how to use Blackboard.
