I chose my major because … I care about people and want to help them in whatever way I can.

My favorite class or professor at NIU is … either Dr. Rosetti or Mary Gawrys because they both inspire me to be the best nurse I can, and their love for what they do is so contagious!

My favorite thing to do on campus is … take a walk on a nice day when the sun is shining with a good friend, especially around the lagoon.

Outside of the classroom, my favorite thing at NIU that really enhances my experience here is  … the library. It is a great place to study and has so many interesting resources and books that I absolutely love.

When I have free time, I like to … spend time with the people on my floor, playing games, talking or just doing silly things to get to know one another better.

One thing I wish I knew about actual college life before I got here is … well, I felt pretty well prepared having attended a community college for a few years, but I guess one thing I would have liked to have known would have been to bring a bigger fan. The Douglas dorms are hot as an oven when you first get here in the fall.

One positive thing I have learned about myself since coming to NIU is … I am capable of doing more than I ever thought possible. NURSING IS HARD, but I’m doing it!

If I was guaranteed success, I would ... study at Oxford and become a writer. I’ve always wanted to write children’s books and on Christian apologetics. (That seems like opposites, I know, but C.S. Lewis did it!)

After graduation, I plan to …  get a job in a hospital near my home in McHenry. After getting a little experience I’d like to do some travel-nursing and see a few places and then head off to grad school and … another adventure!

The one NIU experience I will always remember will be ... how funny it is when my friends Jess and Tori and I study together. Jess always mispronounces or misuses the medical terms we’re using, and it’s hilarious.
