I chose my major because … I took introductory accounting classes as part of the business requirement and I did well. I thought, “Why not take some more?”
My favorite class at NIU is … Classical Mythology (FLCL 271). Lecture was fun because I went to class and listened to stories.
My favorite thing to do on campus is … fly kites in Central Park between Douglas and Stevenson residence halls.
Outside of the classroom, my favorite thing at NIU that really enhances my experience here is … the Honors Program. It really got me involved on campus, and I’ve met many people through living in the Honors House and participating in the Honors Student Association.
When I have free time, I like to … do Sudoku and the crossword puzzle in the Northern Star.
One thing I wish I knew about actual college life before I got here is … how easy it is to meet people and make friends just by spending time on campus.
One positive thing I have learned about myself since coming to NIU is … I am self-motivated. I still enjoy my parents' support, but I am the one making sure that I get up in the morning and that I am prepared for class, not my parents.
If I was guaranteed success, I would ... join the search for intelligent life in the universe.
After graduation, I plan to …take the CPA exam and find work as a public accountant.
The one NIU experience I will always remember will be ... the Saturday during my freshman year that a bunch of my friends from my floor decided to go to the Brookfield Zoo. We spent the entire day there.
