I chose my major because … I want to give back to the community because I want to be able to help juveniles in life get a second chance. I believe in helping others to the best of my ability by making them feel better about themselves and living positive lives.

My favorite class at NIU is … “Disabilities in Society” because I was able to learn about people with disabilities and all of the obstacles they face each and every day.  My favorite professor at NIU is Madelyn Anderson, professor in the Communication Department. She works with students at above-aptitude and is always there for students when they need her. 

My favorite thing to do on campus is … hang out with my friends at the Huskies Den because we are able to come together and have fun after working hard all week.

Outside of the classroom, my favorite thing at NIU that really enhances my experience here is … the library. That’s a place where I am able to go and get work done in a quiet place, relax and enjoy the warmth of books.

When I have free time, I like to … go to the Rec Center because it relieves stress and it’s a place where everyone goes to have fun and meet new people.

One thing I wish I knew about actual college life before I got here is … that studying is a must. If you don’t study, college will be hard to get through.

One positive thing I have learned about myself since coming to NIU is … I can get through and overcome all challenges put in front of me. This is because I have the will and belief to do so.

If I was guaranteed success, I would … become a juvenile lawyer, donate money to as many charities as possible and start a track team at NIU. To me, it’s all about helping others. When I can help others and know they are happy, I know I have done my job, making me even happier.

After graduation, I plan to … go to law school and become a lawyer for juveniles in the Chicago area. I would love to go to the NIU College of Law because NIU is my home and I love the people here.

The one NIU experience I will always remember will be … my friends and all the fun times we had with each other.
