I chose my major because … I have always seen myself working in the corporate world within the internals of a company. I have always been fascinated with the way companies can operate from the ground up.

My favorite class or professor at NIU is … Management 217 with Marvin Hill. I felt that his teachings, although sometimes overwhelming, truly taught people how things would be in the real world. He really made you work for your grade and always had you on the edge of your seat for each lecture with his personal stories and insights on life.

My favorite thing to do on campus is … experience all that is being offered. I really find it hard to take in everything that is offered, but the things that you get involved with and truly appreciate make the experience all the more better.

Outside of the classroom, my favorite thing at NIU that really enhances my experience here is  … the social opportunities that are offered by the university.

When I have free time, I like to … wander the residence halls and visit residents. I really like to see how everyone is doing and just get other perspectives on life at NIU, because you can only take in so much on your own.

One thing I wish I knew about actual college life before I got here is … how much better your experience can be when you get involved with things on campus right off the bat. The transition into college life was a little difficult in the sense of having so much free time, but it has been great getting involved. It truly adds to your experience.

One positive thing I have learned about myself since coming to NIU is … I am a responsible adult who has been able to make some pretty good decisions. I feel I am a pretty level-headed person who is prepared for what the world has to offer.

If I was guaranteed success, I would ... have enough living space for any family or friends who may need a place to stay. I want to be able to help out anyone that may need it later on in life and really just enjoy life. A personal yacht would always be nice, too!

After graduation, I plan to … get a job in the corporate world and work my way up to the top of a company. I really haven’t had too much experience in this realm yet, but after a few internships, I think I will be ready.

The one NIU experience I will always remember will be ... taking the position as a Community Adviser within Douglas Hall. I really feel that this job has opened my eyes to dealing with unexpected situations that come up in life that we must react to and adapt to. I really feel that this job has made me more prepared for the similarities I may face in the business world.
