I chose my major because … I like to work one-on-one with patients and want to make a difference in individuals’ lives. I want to watch patients get progressively stronger and return to their normal lifestyles. I also have a passion for science and felt that the health profession suited me best.

My favorite professor at NIU is … Carla Montgomery. She is extremely knowledgeable in geological science. She possesses an innate desire to teach. She is always more than prepared for class and provides exceptional supplemental learning materials.

My favorite thing to do on campus is … eat at Fatty’s and play catch on a warm, sunny afternoon. There is also nothing better than going dancing after a stressful week.

Outside of the classroom, my favorite thing at NIU that really enhances my experience here is … the Honors Student Association. I have taken many leadership roles and have grown from my experiences.

When I have free time, I like to … work out at the Rec Center, spend time with my friends and go out to eat with my boyfriend.

One thing I wish I knew about actual college life before I got here is … not to get involved in too many activities. I tend to spread myself way too thin and have a hard time accomplishing tasks that way.

One positive thing I have learned about myself since coming to NIU is … that I have the potential to accomplish great things as long as I stay motivated.

If I was guaranteed success, I would ... travel to all of the German-speaking countries: Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. I also want to travel to Australia to visit the Great Barrier Reef. I would also love to go see the volcanoes of Hawaii.

After graduation, I plan to … become a physical therapist and start a family with my love, Robert.

The one NIU experience I will always remember will be ... dancing in the rain and mud at the Silicon Valley bowl game.
