Before you start the sign up process, we suggest that you review our step by step sign up/room selection walkthrough.

Important Note

If you are a currently enrolled, off campus student, you must e-mail your name and ZID# to housing-dining@niu.edu. We will set up your account and notify you within a few days to return to this website and complete the housing sign up process. As a reminder, there is a $150 fee associated with the contract signup. This fee is payable via Visa or Mastercard. Students under 18 years of age on the date this contract is completed (payment made) must also submit the Parent Guardian Verification Form to be eligible for room selection.

To apply for housing online you must be using Internet Explorer, Netscape or Firefox Mozilla. The application system is NOT compatible with Safari or Google Chrome.
It is strongly encouraged to use the online form, however you may alternatively print the contract form and mail or fax it to the Residential Administration Office. Please include the $150 contract fee in check or money order. Mail contract and payment to:

Room Selection

After you have completed the application, you will receive a confirmation letter from Housing & Dining. You will be notified to return to this Web site and select your room. It is recommended that you begin exploring the large variety of living options, so you are fully informed when you select your room.
