Imagining Cambodia: Cambodia Studies Conference 2012 September 13-16, 2012 Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois The Cambodia Studies Working Group and the Center for Southeast Asian Studies at Northern Illinois University, in collaboration with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Ohio University, the University of Massachusetts Lowell and the Center for Khmer Studies, invite the submission of individual papers and panels for an international Cambodia Studies conference scheduled for September 14-16, 2012. The theme “Imagining Cambodia” opens the possibility of presentations in the arts as well as the social sciences and humanities, encourages interdisciplinary/ multidisciplinary projects, and promotes creative work on both future possibilities and re-imagined versions of the past. What is beyond a post-conflict society? How are new histories being constructed? What visions of the future are being expressed through painting, drama, and literature as well as economic policy and new patterns of political participation?
