Southeast Asia Club

SEA Club Mission Statement
Welcome to the Southeast Asia Club (SEA Club)! SEA Club is funded by the Student Association and sponsored by the Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS) at Northern Illinois University. Our primary goal is to bring knowledge about Southeast Asia to the NIU community and greater Chicago land area. Established in 1969, SEA Club has become instrumental in providing various outlets for students and other members of the community to learn about Southeast Asia. We host annual culture nights that involve performances from the various Southeast Asian countries and an annual student conference that brings in a guest speaker to lecture on Southeast Asia. We plan to assist with CSEAS outreach coordinator to further strengthen our ties in K-12 schools around the area. Our members volunteer at non-profit organizations such as Hope Haven to help the DeKalb community and spread knowledge of Southeast Asia. We participate annually in NIU Cares Day and other volunteer opportunities. Thank you for taking an interest in the SEA Club!
All NIU students, faculty, and staff are welcome to join.
