The famed creators behind CST’s sold-out The Tempest, Aaron Posner and Teller (of Penn & Teller), reunite for a new, enchanted take on “the Scottish play.” Diving into the psyches of Macbeth and his Lady, Shakespeare’s seductive, twisted text delivers an explosive, unforgettable examination of what drives a person to risk utter destruction for power. Magic, witches, dark moors, and stunning sights will delight and trick the eye. Presented in the flexible performance space of The Yard, a unique configuration specifically designed for this show will perfectly match Teller's and Posner's wild imaginings in a thrilling culmination to the season.

This performance features a post-show talk back. Audience Members will be able to speak with the cast and crew to gain further insights about the play.

The play begins at 1:00 p.m. inside the beautiful courtyard-style theater (inspired by the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Swan Theater). We will arrive early, so you will have plenty of time to dine and enjoy the stores and attractions of Navy Pier before the show. Navy Pier attractions include Pier Park, the Chicago Children’s Museum, and Amazing Chicago’s Funhouse Maze.

NIU External Programming’s Travel series provides the opportunity to ride to the performance with an NIU expert who will provide an introduction to the play. After the performance, you will have the chance to ask questions of the expert in a small group setting.
