Road Scholar

Are you 55 or better?
Do you want to share experiences in a classroom full of people from various backgrounds?
Do you want to travel to universities and interesting sites across the United States?

If you become part of NIU Road Scholar (the new name for Elderhostel, Inc.), you'll find that this independent, nonprofit organization offers short-term academic experiences. These experiences will allow you to exchange ideas, broaden perspectives, and make friends with active, interesting people.

At Northern, Road Scholar participants stay in air-conditioned, double-occupancy rooms with a private bath. Meals and Road Scholar classes all take place in the Holmes Student Center, located in the center of the NIU campus. NIU also offers a commuter option.
