Do you use your graphing calculator for more than just playing games? Do you celebrate Pi Day? Do you want to hang out with others who share a love of math?
Here is your chance! Set equations to FUN at Math Camp! At Math Camp you'll experience the stunning spectrum of mathematics from algebra to calculus and beyond. Show off your skills with fractions, graphs, statistics, and other concepts.
You will work with experienced math graduate students, instructors, and professors while fine-tuning your mathematics skills. Campers will learn and socialize while experiencing what it is like to live on a college campus.
Campers will experience:
- fun and challenging daily math problems - can you solve them all?
- discussions about exciting careers in math
- socializing with others who share an interest and appreciation of math
- games, puzzles, prizes, and more!
Camp Director: Lance Vobornik is an instructor of Mathematics at NIU. He has also conducted ACT prep classes and acts as a volunteer proctor for the annual ICTM High School Mathematics Contest. Lance's hobbies include factoring, solving differential equations, and playing Sudoku.
Summer Camp Fees: Residential campers $525 ($575 after June 14, 2013); returning LA&S Academic Summer campers, multiple campers from the same household, or NIU employees are eligible for an additional $25 discount on request.
