The NIU Alumni Association offers $2,500 merit scholarships available to continuing college students who are enrolled full-time at NIU for both the fall and spring semesters ($1250 each semester). Each applicant is eligible only to receive one Alumni Association scholarship per academic year.

The American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois (ACEC-IL) conducts an annual scholarship program that provides a minimum of $11,500 in awards. ACEC-IL annually awards a $4,000 top award to an Illinois engineering student. In addition, a minimum of six additional $1,500 Named Scholarships are awarded. These Named Scholarships are graciously sponsored by ACEC-IL Member Firms.
Whether you're a college-bound high school student or already attending a college or university, Army ROTC has scholarships available. Scholarships are awarded based on a student's merit and grades, not financial need.

The College Scholarship Program is available on a competitive basis to community college, four-year college and graduate students of Hispanic heritage. Award amounts generally range from $1,000 to $3,000.
The Erma Byrd Scholarship Program provides scholarships to individuals pursuing a course of study that will lead to a career in industrial health and safety occupations, including mine safety. The program has a service obligation component, which requires recipients of the scholarship to begin employment in a career position related to industrial health and safety no later than six months after completion of the degree program, and to continue to work in a career position related to industrial health and safety, including mine safety, for a period of one year. An estimated $1 million will be available for an estimated 110 awards.
The e-Scholar Web site has information about hundreds of federally funded education scholarships, fellowships, grants, internships, and cooperative programs valued at more than $400 million. The site contains information for students from high school through doctoral. New programs are added daily.
This Web site is developed by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and has several links to foundations and programs offering scholarships.
Four scholarships are available.
All sophomore- and junior-level college engineering students who meet the program criteria are invited to compete for the scholarship by submitting an essay on a designated, contemporary engineering topic. Candidates will be evaluated on their demonstrated potential for and commitment to a career in engineering, outstanding academic performance and depth of knowledge about the issue or challenge addressed in their essay.
