Nanotechnology is concerned with the control of matter on the nanometer scale- one nanometer is one billionth of a meter, or 100,000 times smaller than a human hair. This cutting edge field has become an interdisciplinary STEM field.
This residential camp gives a broad overview of nanoscience/nanotechnology as a field with many career opportunities. Students are able to gain a comprehensive understanding through activities that will introduce them to the unique properties at the nanoscale.
Camp Location: Engineering Building EB 354, College of Engineering and Engineering Technology, NIU, DeKalb, IL 60115
Dorm and Orientation Location: Summer Conference Center, NIU DeKalb Campus, DeKalb, IL
Dates: July 13-17, 2015
Eligibility: Incoming 10th – 12th graders
Cost: Fees for participation in this residential camp is $570 if registered before April 30th, 2015. This camp fees includes the field trip, dorm stay, food & snacks, camp expenses, T-shirts and the recreational activities in the evening.
