The 2+2 Plan for Community College Students

Courses at Rock Valley College

            Courses in Humanities/Fine Arts and Social/Behavioral Science as required

            [1]. Only A.A, and A.S. degrees satisfy NIU’s general education requirements.

Social Science/Humanities Electives

It is recommended that two or three courses in Humanities/Social Sciences be taken at COD and the rest at NIU. NIU's College of Engineering and Engineering Technology no longer requires sequences in Social Sciences and Humanities. Therefore, students only need to satisfy NIU's general education requirements.

When choosing general education/core competency courses please consult with your COD advisor, verify general education requirements in the NIU Undergraduate Catalog, and check the Community College Articulation Tables for transferability.

Remaining classes to be taken at NIU's College of Engineering and Engineering Technology to earn a major in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Emphasis 3. Engineering Management.

                        Econ 260 – Principles of Microeconomics

                        Econ 261 – Principles of Macroeconomics

(15 ) Semester Credit hours of Technical Courses

Choose three of the following; ISYE 442, ISYE 475, ISYE 490 OR TECH 485, MGMT 333 OR ECON 301 OR PSYC 372 OR TECH 404.

Choose one of the following; ACCY 207, ACCY 288, ECON 360.

Choose one of the following; COMS 302, COMS 361, MGMT 346.
