Undergraduate Tuition and Fees
At NIU, undergraduate tuition rates are assessed according to a sliding
scale rate schedule. This means the more credit hours for which you are
enrolled, the lower your per-credit-hour tuition rate. Accordingly, should you reduce the number of credit hours for
which you are enrolled, by dropping or withdrawing from a course, your per-credit-hour tuition rate will increase.
In-State
Truth-In-Tuition is for Illinois residents enrolling for the first time at NIU as degree-seeking undergraduates. This provides students to be charged a fixed tuition rate schedule for four continuous years beginning with their initial enrollment.
To determine your CURRENT tuition rate schedule, select the term of your initial enrollment as an in-state, degree-seeking student at NIU:
* All in-state, non degree-seeking students, post-baccalaureate students, and students whose initial term began fall 2004 or prior will be charged the most CURRENT tuition rate schedule within the academic year for the term.
