
Types of Transfer Students
Are you attending an Illinois public community college?
- View how courses transfer to NIU from any Illinois Community College by using the NIU Articulation Tables.
- A graduate of an Illinois public community college who has not previously attended Northern Illinois University and who has completed a baccalaureate-oriented A.A., A.S., or approved A.A.T.degree will be admitted to NIU.
Are you a new transfer applicant to NIU from another college or university?
- Northern Illinois University will accept credit in transfer from any regionally accredited college or university if the courses to be transferred are part of a baccalaureate program.
- NIU accepts transferable course work awarded a grade of "C" or higher.
- Courses, which institutions consider to be vocational, technical, or remedial, are only accepted as part of an NIU undergraduate degree program upon College and Department review and approval of the specific courses.
