Essay

Submit a one-page, typed essay describing your career goals, and how your past experiences (e.g. leadership, employment, etc.) have assisted you in obtaining those goals? With that in mind, how could you utilize this scholarship and involvement at NIU assist you in launching your career goal success?

Letter of Recommendation: Your letter of recommendation should be from instructors, employers, or other sources who are not relatives. Your letter of recommendation should be able to speak on behalf of your character and ability to lead. The letter must arrive by no later than April 3, 2014. Statements, like the application, can either be e-mailed from the author to transfercenter@niu.edu (with the subject: Transfer Residential Scholarship Recommendation for [insert name of applicant]), or mailed to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Northern Illinois University, Attn: Arielle Kalvelage, 1425 W. Lincoln Hwy., DeKalb, IL 60115. They can also be hand-delivered to Williston Hall’s Office of Admissions (1st Floor). The deadline for this letter is April 3, 2014.

Deadline: All documents and eligibility must be provided by April 3, 2014. If your submitted application does not have all criteria met (at least 24 completed transferable credit hours, essay, application completion, and letter of recommendation), it will not be considered for the scholarship.

Scholarship Announcements: Scholarships will be awarded shortly prior to May 1, 2014.
