“Hail to thee our alma mater ever shall we praise your name. Here, we proudly lift our voices, thousands strong we sing your fame.” As a proud alumna of NIU I have often sung the praises of Northern and all it has to offer even before I started working for the university. Growing up as a member of a military family I moved around frequently. From the day I first stepped foot on campus I felt very welcome and comfortable, so much so that years later I am still thrilled to be able to call both the university and DeKalb home.
As an admissions counselor I am often on the road meeting with students. My schools include a wide territory from the Kankakee area all the way west to Monmouth. I really enjoy being able to meet with students and share not only my experiences with Northern, but the opportunities that await them. NIU has so many incredible programs to study or become involved in and it is so great to be able to share these with students on a one on one basis.
When I am not sharing my love for Northern with students I find all sorts of ways to keep myself busy! I love to garden, read, cook, shop, paint, hang out with our crazy puppy Rufus…..just to name a few. Soon I am also hoping to start work on my Masters as well.
I would love the opportunity to share my passion about Northern with you and answer any questions you may have. Hopefully, soon you too will be proud to call NIU your home and together we can sing the Alma Mater, Hail NIU!, and “Let our cheers resound for Northern. Hail NIU!”
