My career in Admissions began as a student worker stuffing packets for prospective students of Elmhurst College, and here I am today!
My favorite part of the job is working with students and their families. I love the university Open House! I have a particular interest in transfer students and their unique concerns. I am very involved in regional and national organizations related to Admissions and have attended and presented at the “Institute for the Study of Transfer Students” for several years.
My husband (Chad), daughter (Bailey), beagle (Snoopy), and I love living in the DeKalb community. If you like Mexican Food, try Los Rancheros. If you like Chinese Food, try Yen Ching. If you like the theatre, go to see a play at The Egyptian Theatre.
NIU has so much to offer, we are in an ideal location for cooperative education and internship opportunities. I encourage you to visit our campus and meet with one of the Transfer Center team members and tour campus. If you chose NIU as your transfer institution, be sure to get involved. Start by going to Friday Fest the weekend before school begins. I encourage you to consider enrolling in a section of UNIV 201: The Transfer Experience Course.
