What advice do you have for future students? Future students should plan to have a stellar high school senior year in activities, academics, and studies to prepare for university life.  High school is essentially over; and the transition into college will be a seamless and exciting one if you bring the best in study skills, intellectual preparation, and leadership with you to NIU.

Be prepared to hit the ground running and plan to be very involved with activities, experiential learning, intellectual rigor, and personal growth while maturing as college men and women.

Expect to be challenged, and rise to new expectations of excellence as a university student.  Your first day at NIU is your first step into becoming a young professional.  Focus and keep your eyes on the prize.  Graduation from the university is your goal!

What are 3 things you love about NIU? The Huskie spirit and Northern Pact core values, which are: just, caring, open, disciplined, and celebrative.  These values define what it means to be part of the NIU Huskie family.  I also love the opportunities for enjoying the art and music scene, as well as the academic and athletic traditions on campus.

What is your favorite place on campus? The East Lagoon on campus is my favorite place.  Its park-like atmosphere, wildlife, and natural beauty offer an enjoyable moment to reflect on the best aspects of university life.
