Groundhogs/Subelement was created in the late 90's by a group of people in the NIU (Northern Illinois University) and Dekalb, IL area got together and had regular sessions in the basements of NIU. Merv and others created Subelements and Billy Ho created Groundhogs after most of the past members of Subelements left. Past members have ran off to other crews such as 360, Brickheadz, Scared Grounds, Stick & Move, and etc. The Subelement members battle as Groundhogs (SE), and we also perform for talent shows and schools around the midwest. Subelements is once again rising up, and soon to be well known in the midwest scene.
