A supportive discussion group for Asian International students!
Join this supportive discussion group which has been especially developed with Asian International students in mind! Participants will get to know one another, share common concerns, and develop new experiences. Discussions are informal and flexible.
Wednesday, September 7: “Campus Resources and Getting Acquainted!”
Bring your lunch and meet students with similar concerns and needs. Discuss campus resources that will help you successfully navigate your college journey! Share tips and stories that will help you support each other in the process. Fireside Room, Asian American Center, 12 noon - 1:00 p.m.
Wednesday September 21: “DeKalb Community and Getting Connected!”
If you are wondering, “What is there to do in DeKalb?!” then this Brown Bag discussion is for you! Find out about social outlets in the area and DeKalb’s unique “hot spots!” If interested, the group may plan an impromptu field trip to explore one of these hot spots first-hand! Fireside Room, Asian American Center, 12 noon - 1:00 p.m.
Wednesday, October 12: “International Brown Bag Potluck!”
Be prepared...someone may ask you for your recipe! Fireside Room, Asian American Center, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.
Wednesday, November 9: “Career Exploration!”
Identify career paths and internship opportunities related to your major! Expand your mind and explore avenues you may not have considered. An opportunity to schedule an appointment with a career counselor will be available! Fireside Room, Asian American Center, 12 noon - 1:00 p.m.
December: “To Be Determined!”
